Your organisation's purpose:
Artisan Brewery and Distillery in the heart of Canterbury housed in our brewpub and restaurant which was a Victorian Foundry that produced the first ever electric streetlight and Torpedo.
What is your impact initiative?
We have built and designed a system that captures the heat from the distillation process to heat our restaurant and bar.
The impact your initiative has had:
The heat reclamation is a significant energy saving for the restaurant in the form of heating and brewing process in the form of hot water. In reusing our grain, the farmer has to order less feed and it avoids landfill use.
Have you observed any direct benefits to your business or organisation as a result of the initiative?
Direct cost saving in heating and hot water, customers love the project and the story.
Have you observed any benefits to your visitors as a result of the initiative?
The customer is more comfortable. Warmer in the winter and the increased insulation will make it cooler in the summer.
