The Visit Kent Recovery Strategy

Through our involvement in the Government’s Tourism Industry Emergency Response Group and our place on the Tourism Alliance Board, Visit Kent has helped shape the national Tourism Recovery Strategy developed by DCMS, as well as local and regional recovery planning. Our own strategy is aligned with these strategies and adopts the following three-stage approach:

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: To support businesses to survive the crisis; restore consumer confidence, visitor numbers and spend; and work strategically to ensure the long-term sustainability of the sector.

Stage 1:  Respond (up to May 2021) - providing swift and flexible support to help tourism businesses during the crisis and rebuild consumer confidence.

Stage 2: Reboot (May - Sept 2021) - relaunching the visitor economy by driving demand and capitalising on immediate opportunities.

NOW Stage 3: Rebuild (Sept 2021 onwards) - developing a sustainable, high-value visitor economy which delivers jobs and growth across our destinations.
